Blood Pear

blood-pearA red-fleshed pear found locally in Hasfield and Ashleworth and believed to have been distributed by Leslie Dallman on account of its colour.  Very early sweet pear of little merit, but possibly used for “harvest” perry.

Red-fleshed pears are called “blood” if soft and early ripening, and “beetroot” if firmer and later ripening.
